I installed the Harbor Freight Badlands Apex 5500 Short Drum on my Pro-MX recently. It does have the requisite standard bolt pattern as mentioned. However, the winch has some interesting dimensions and part inclusions, being one of the beefiest winches for this pattern available. The driver side of the drum interferes with the factory angled metal and I had to grind a small notch out for it to clear. The included fairlead mounting plate does not sit cleanly on the bumper plate due to interfering with the factory welds, so I also had to grind recesses into the plate all around the edges on the back portion of the plate so it could sit flush. Lastly, even with all that done, the included 25mm bolts barely catch the threads of the nut and don't seem to be able to thread in enough to fully engage, especially with both the flat and lock washers included in the kit. I had to buy 30mm 10.9 grade bolts at the local hardware store which seem to be fully engaging the captive nuts in the winch body and still had room to use both washers on each bolt. Not a drop-in installation, but after some work I do have probably one of the beefiest winches available for this setup. I do plan to keep an extra length of winch rope extension on board as the short drum uses thicker cable than 3500lb winches and therefore only has about 25' of it. If you don't feel like grinding metal and sourcing extra hardware, however, you way want to go a different route than the Apex 5500 short drum on this machine.
